The A.A. Walking Committee

The A.A. Walking Committee was set up as a direct consequence of the 2004 Inquiry into Athletics In Australia. The Terms of Reference for the new committee were simple - To address all matters relating to Race Walking in Australia and make recommendations to the Board of Athletics Australia.

The Walking Committee would canvas the views of the Australian racewalking community and try to provide A.A. with informed recommendations that represent the best interests of Australian racewalking.

It is a sad fact of life that in the 3 years since this committee was setup, there has been little opportunity or invitation for it to actually work constructively with Athletics Australia. However, the structure is still in place and the members do form a possible (if rarely used) access point to A.A.
